A: Yes, we do accept purchase orders if you are a member and have completed our credit application form and received approval. To become a member
Q: Are safety cards received from other safety councils honored?
A: Yes, we honor all valid cards from all participating Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) members. For a full list of ARSC members please visit their website: http://arsc.net/locations. Provided your employee can present a valid identification, and the training is included in the reciprocal agreement.
Q: What other safety councils accept the Southwest Louisiana Safety Councils' Basic Orientation Plus/ Refresher course?
A: All Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) member councils are under agreement to accept our Basic Orientation Plus and any other transferable courses. For more information on ARSC and a list of member councils and transferable courses visit their website: www.arsc.net/.

Q: Is it mandatory for my employees to have their TWIC card?
A: No, however, if your employees are scheduled for courses that require a TWIC card as a prerequisite those courses will not be provided unless a TWIC card is presented and validated.

Registering and General Course Information
Q: How do I register online?
A: The majority of our courses are computer-based and can be delivered anywhere via the Internet, while others are hands-on, instructor-led and feature scenario-based or task-specific curriculum. To register, select your training option: Computer Based Training (CBT) or Instructor Led Training by clicking here.
Q: How do I pay for courses if I am not a member?
A: You will pay for the course at the time of check-in. We accept cash and all major credit cards.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Due to limited seating, we do not issue refunds once transaction is complete. You are responsible for verifying course code and date.
Q: How long are courses and what do they cost?

Q: If I fail a course, do I have to pay again to retest?
A: Yes, if you do not pass a course you will need to re-register and pay for it again.
Q: How much does a safety card cost?
A: The Basic Orientation Plus (13BOP) course requires a passing score and will yield an Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) card, otherwise referred to as an OSHA or safety card. For cost information, please click here.

Q: I’ve lost my safety card. How can I get a new one?
A: To get a replacement card, visit any Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana location; reminder to have proper identification. Cost of a replacement card is $25.
Q: I’ve lost my ID, can I still attend class?
A: No, for safety reasons we require State or Government issued picture ID (US Driver's License, TWIC, US Military ID, Department of Corrections Card, or International Passport).

Q: What if Basic Orientation Plus Refresher training is not completed in 12 months?
A: If less than four years has passed from the expiration date, you are eligible to take the computer based Basic Orientation Plus Refresher course. If more than four years have elapsed, you must retake the Basic Orientation Plus Class.
