In our 40 hr. course, the students start on Monday and end Friday afternoon.  This course continues from the 24 hour course into Thursday and Friday.  The students receive the following additional awareness level information:

• Ionizing radiation (29CFR1910.1096)
• Electrical safety awareness (29CFR1910.137)
• Drum handling
• Preventing and controlling chemical spills
• Site control
• Decontamination
• Scenario-based training exercise, including overpacking a leaking drum
• Hands-on confined space training
• Setting-up and operating a decontamination line
• Donning and doffing Level A and B clothing

The students will perform all aspects of a permit entry into a confined space where the entrants will undertake overpacking a leaking drum while in Level B clothing. Finally, the class ends with CPR and first aid training.  Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate indicating that they have been trained according to 29CFR 1910.120 (e)(3)(i).  They will also receive certification for CPR and first aid.
