This privacy notice discloses practices for the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana (“SCSWLA”). This privacy notice applies to information collected by SCWLA’s website and at SCSWLA’s locations in Southwest Louisiana. The information SCSWLA collects is derived from trainees, applicants, clients, employees, and volunteers as required to meet federal and/or state reporting requirements and safety standards. The matters governed by this policy include, without limitation, the following:

1. The personally identifiable information SCSWLA collects from you through the website or in person and how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
2. The choices available to you regarding the use of your information.
3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
4. Procedures to correct any inaccuracies in the information you provide to SCSWLA.

A. Information Collection, Use and Sharing Information Collection

In the ordinary course of business, the SCSWLA may collect personal information such as:

• Name, address and telephone number
• Social Security number
• Driver’s License information
• Grades and other testing information

Once you choose to provide us with personal information, it will only be used to enhance the services provided to you by SCSWLA. Security procedures have been implemented to protect the confidentiality of your personal information, and we will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to others.

In order to better serve you and to improve our future products and services, SCSWLA may ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal or professional interests, demographics and experiences that you had with our products or services. Providing this additional information is optional.

Anonymous (non-personal) data we collect may include the pages visited on safetyswla.org, unique URLs visited within safetyswla.org, browser type and IP address.

SCSWLA will create and maintain a record of the services provided to trainees by the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana. Certain information may also be provided to SCSWLA by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils, Inc. (“ARSC”) or by other reciprocal Safety Councils. Information from these entities will only be used by SCSWLA to furnish and/or improve services you request.

SCSWLA does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, and SCSWLA’s products and services are not directed to children under 13. SCSWLA is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and encourages parents to take an active role in monitoring their children’s online activities and interests.

Use

SCSWLA uses your information to better understand your needs and interests and thereby to provide you with more personalized services. Specifically, SCSWLA uses your information to help you complete a transaction or order, to communicate with you, to provide service and support, to update you on services and benefits, to personalize promotional offers and to personalize some Safety Council web sites. Occasionally, SCSWLA may also use your information to contact you for market research regarding our products and services. You will have the opportunity to opt-out of market research and customer surveys. SCSWLA used credit card information only for payment processing and fraud prevention and not for any other purposes.

Anonymous (non-personal) data is aggregated for reporting about safetyswla.org website usability, performance and effectiveness. This anonymous data is used to improve the customer experience, usability and site content.

Sharing

SCSWLA will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to unrelated third-party companies. Some SCSWLA services are linked with those from other unrelated third-party companies. SCSWLA will only share information necessary to conduct business for licensing, certification, payments or other request as required by law.

Unless you ask us not to (i.e., “opt out”) we may contact you via email or by phone to tell you about new products or services, specials, or changes to this privacy policy.

Destruction of Social Security Numbers: Records that include Social Security numbers will be maintained in accordance with federal and state laws and SCSWLA will ensure confidentiality and limited access. When such documents are released for destruction, the records will be destroyed in accordance with the Document Retention and Destruction Policy.

B. Access & Accuracy

SCSWLA strives to keep your personally identifiable information accurate. SCSWLA’s managerial data standards review processes and technological tools maintain customer data accuracy. SCSWLA will provide you with access to view and change your information, including making every effort to provide you with online access. To protect your privacy and security, SCSWLA will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity, such as a password and user ID, before granting access to your data. Certain areas of SCSWLA websites may limit access to specific individuals using passwords and other personal identifiers.

C. Security

SCSWLA is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of the information, SCSWLA’s managerial data review process procedures safeguard the information we collect. This privacy statement applies to all websites or domains owned and/or managed by SCSWLA.

E. Changes to Policy

The policies set forth above may be amended from time to time without notice. Your continued use of the SCSWLA’s website(s) after amendment to these policies constitutes your agreement to the amended policies.
